 | Tobey Balazs, MSN, FNP Certified Family Nurse Practitioner Tobey received her bachelor's degree in biology with a minor in animal science from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 2002. She continued her education at the Virginia Commonwealth University where she received both her bachelor's degree and master's degree in nursing. Following graduation, Tobey returned to her hometown of Sterling, VA. She joined Nova Medical & Urgent Care Center, Inc. in 2006. Tobey is a certified Family Health Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Prior to joining Nova, she worked in cardiothoracic surgical intensive care, medical/surgical units, and the emergency room. Tobey enjoys treating patients of all ages and is currently pursuing a certification in diabetes education. She is a member of Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners. PRACTICE PHILOSOPHY Tobey believes in empowering patients with knowledge, establishing trusting provider-patient relationships, and listening to patients with an empathetic and open mind.  | Rachel F. Bonner, MSN, FNP Certified Family Nurse Practitioner Rachel received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Pennsylvania State University in 1994. In May of 1999, she earned her Masters of Science in Nursing at the George Mason University in collaboration with the George Washington School of Medicine. Rachel is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society. Rachel has extensive experience in the treatment of infectious diseases and the care of adults and children suffering from HIV and AIDS. She has worked in acute care settings as well as clinics for the underserved and indigent population of Northern Virginia. She joined Nova Medical Group in 2004. Dr. Jeffrey Conklin was born in Orchard Park, New York and received his Medical Degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in 2002. Upon successful completion of the Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Residency Program at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Conklin started practice at the MetroHealth Buckeye Health Center in 2006. He is joining Nova Medical Group as of January 2011. |
 | Christopher Connolly, MD Board Certified in Internal Medicine Dr. Connolly graduated from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia with a degree in biology. He received his medical degree from the New York Medical College of Valhalla, New York and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Prior to his medical school training, Dr. Connolly conducted specialized research for the Department of Emergency Medicine and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. During his medical school training at New York Medical College, Dr. Connolly was granted a research fellowship and continued his research interests in the field of Gastroenterology and Infectious Disease. He joined NOVA Medical Group and NOVA Urgent Care in 1999 and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. Donald, DO Board Certified in Family Medicine Dr. Robin Donald was born and grew up in Memphis, TN and received her undergraduate degree in biology from Xavier University of Louisiana, New Orleans, LA. She later earned her medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona, CA. After completing a family medicine residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center/St Francis Hospital in Memphis, TN, she and her family relocated to the Northern Virginia area. She currently resides in Herndon, VA. Dr. Donald is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, American Medical Association, and the American Osteopathic Association. Dr. Donald joined Nova Medical & Urgent Care Center in August, 2009. She is passionately interested in preventative medicine and women's health. Dowe, MSN, WHC, FN.-C Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certified Women's Health Nurse Practitioner Shawn received her bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Central Oklahoma in 1995. She attended Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, TX where she completed her training as a women's health nurse practitioner in 1998. After moving to California with her husband and family, she further studied as a family nurse practitioner at the Harbor UCLA, which she completed 2003. Shawn holds dual board certifications as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner by the National Credentialing Center. Shawn comes to Nova Medical & Urgent Care Center, Inc. bringing experience from a variety of healthcare settings including family practice, urgent care, preventive medicine, women's health care, diabetes education, and disease management. Shawn served as a volunteer for the American Red Cross at the Naval Hospital while stationed in Okinawa, Japan with her husband and children. She was later hired at the Naval Hospital to provide care to military members and their families. Shawn is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the American College of Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners in Womem's Health, the American Academy of Diabetic Educators, and Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society.  | Diane Fenlason, FNP Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner Diane grew up in Rochester, NY. She attended Alfred University in Alfred, NY, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Following graduation, she joined the Army Nurse Corps. After completing a tour, she married, but continued with the Army as a civilian. After living in Germany for 10 years, she moved to Virginia to work at DeWitt Army Hospital. She received her master's degree from Marymount University in Arlington, VA and became a family nurse practitioner. Diane joined Nova Medical & Urgent Care Center in 2009 and is certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She is a member of the Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners. PRACTICE PHILOSOPHY Diane believes in treating the whole patient and that prevention is the cornerstone of medicine. Her special interests are in Women's Health and Preventative Medicine. Kanika was born in Maharashtra, India and graduated from government medical college in Miraj, India. She currently lives in Ashburn with her husband and children, and is fluent in English, Hindi and Marathi.  | Camille Grosso, PhD, APRN, BC Clinical Nurse Specialist Dr. Grosso was born in Geneva, NY. She graduated from Willard State Hospital with a diploma in nursing. Following marriage and two children, she received an undergraduate degree in nursing from George Mason University, a master's degree in nursing from Catholic University and a PhD in Nursing from Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Grosso has experience in hospital nursing, hospital administration, and the teaching of nursing at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Since 1982, she has maintained a private practice of psychotherapy, helping patients with anxiety, depression and the major mental illnesses. More recently, her practice has expanded to include helping patients with chronic pain, chronic illness, and stress-related illnesses. Dr. Grosso has memberships in various professional organizations. She is certified in Adult Mental-Health Nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and also in Clinical Hypnotherapy by the American Society for Clinical Hypnosis. She most recently completed a certificate program in Biofeedback. She is a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. Dr. Grosso joined Nova in 2003.  | Amy Johnson, RD, LD Registered Dietitian Certified Diabetic Educator Amy Johnson is a registered dietitian and a certified diabetes educator. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from James Madison University in 1992, graduating Magna Cum Laude. The following year, Amy completed her dietetics internship at Brigham & Women's Hospital, teaching affiliate of the Harvard Medical School, in Boston, MA. She also received specialized diabetes training from The Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston and The International Diabetes Center in Minneapolis, MN. Over the past 14 years, Amy has worked as an in-hospital dietitian, a media dietitian, and a home care specialist. In 2003, she received her certification as a diabetes educator. Before joining Nova Medical Group, Amy worked as a diabetes educator for the Inova Fair Oaks Diabetes Center. She is a member of the American Dietetic Association.  | Jee Eun Lee Karl, MD Family Medicine Born in Korea and raised in Panama, Dr. Jee Eun Lee Karl received her medical degree from the University of Panama in Panama City. She then completed her residency in family medicine at the Brooklyn Hospital Center in Brooklyn, NY. After recently relocating to Northern Virginia with her husband and daughter, Dr. Lee Karl joined Nova Medical & Urgent Care Center, Inc. in August 2010. Dr. Lee Karl is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and is a certified Medical Review Officer (MRO). She is fluent in English, Spanish and Korean. Teerawong Kasiolarn, ND, MSAc., LAc. Naturopathic Doctor Licensed Acupuncturist Teerawong is certified in naturopathic medicine by the Naturopathic Licensing and Examination Board with additional certifications in acupuncture and integrative medicine. He is a licensed and nationally certified acupuncturist in the state of Virginia. He received his Bachelor of Science with Honors in Biochemistry at Arizona State University. He earned his Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine and Master of Science in Acupuncture in 2005 from Bastyr University in Seattle, WA, the world's leading academic center for natural health sciences and one of four accredited naturopathic medical schools in the country. McMurry, Jr., M.D. Board Certified in Internal Medicine Board Certified in Endocrine Born, raised and educated in Oklahoma, Dr. McMurry earned his doctor of medicine degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1965 and became a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed an internal medicine residency in 1969 and endocrinology training in 1971. Dr. McMurry is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, a member of the Endocrine Society and a former President of the Washington, DC Affiliate of the American Diabetes Association. After practicing for many years in his solo medical practice in Montgomery County, Maryland, Dr. McMurry and his wife Rebecca moved to Leesburg. During his time off, Dr. McMurry enjoys photography, genealogy and exploring early Virginia history with his wife.  | Holger Noelle, MD Board Certified in Family Medicine Dr. Holger Noelle was born and raised near Cologne, Germany. After completing a mandatory two-year military service in the airborne, Dr. Noelle began his medical education in natural medicine leading to a license in holistic medicine. He received his medical degree after completing a seven year program at the Justus-Liebig University, near Frankfurt, Germany. After completing the surgical part of his medical education in Tel Aviv Israel, Dr. Noelle returned to Germany, where he worked for two years in vascular surgery. After receiving his medical license he moved to the United States with his wife, a native of Florida. Dr. Noelle completed a U.S. residency program at Franklin Square Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland in family medicine. He joined Nova Medical and Urgent Care Center in 2005 and is experienced in both holistic and traditional medicine. He enjoys treating patients of all ages. He is married and has two sons. He currently resides in Oakton, Virginia. PRACTICE PHILOSOPHY Medicine is an art; the art of finding the best way to improve a person's life.  | Dawna M. Rogers, MD Dermatology Internal Medicine Dawna M. Rogers, MD earned her Bachelor of Arts degree at Brown University in Providence, RI. She continued her education at Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C., where she earned her Doctor of Medicine in 1984. She then completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of California at Irvine/Veterans Administration Medical Center in Long Beach, CA, and her residency in dermatology at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. Following her residencies, Dr. Rogers worked for Tulane University Department of Medicine as a staff physician for six years. She then relocated to Maryland where she was employed by Kaiser Permanente as the staff physician in dermatology for many years. Dr. Rogers joined Nova Medical & Urgent Care Center, Inc. in July 2011. Dr. Rogers is actively engaged with the community and has been involved with Capital City Links in Washington, D.C. since 1998. Prior to joining Nova, Sandra worked in both ambulatory and acute care settings. She has extensive experience and interest in both cardiology and pulmonary medicine. Most recently, she practiced at INOVA Loudon Hospital providing care to patients on the medical-surgical wards, telemetry unit, ICU, PACU and in the emergency department. Nicole Woods, MSN, FNP Certified Family Nurse Practitioner Nicole Woods, FNP was born and raised in Southern California. She earned her Bachelor's in Biology Degree from La Sierra University and went on to pursue Advanced Practice Nursing at Loma Linda University School of Nursing. Nicole worked her way through graduate school as a surgical nurse in an underserved population. She completed the program in December of 2008, earning her Master's of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Nicole is board-certified by the American Nursing Credentialing Center. She is a member of the American Nurses Association, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International, Gamma Alpha Chapter. She has served as a mentor, preceptor to new graduates, and has received numerous awards for her leadership in nursing. Nicole joined Nova Medical & Urgent Care Center in September of 2009.
